St. Jude. Patron Saint of Lost Causes. St, Jude was one of the 12 apostles. He is often shown with a flame around his head, which represents his presence at Pentecost when he received the Holy Spirit with the other apostles.  St. Jude's faith and refusal to give up hope in desperate situations and in difficult environments and circumstances are the reasons he is invoked as the patron saint of lost causes.
