St. Francis of Assisi Patron St. of Animals
 St. Francis, native of Assisi, Italy was the founder of the Franciscan Order.  He was called to rebuild churches and preach the word of God.  People of all walks of life respected Francis because he always showed love and kindness to all- even in nature.  Francis spent hours at a time in nature, preaching God's word to animals as they listened .   He tamed unruly animals and they listened to his commands.  Because of this, St. Francis is known as the patron saint of animals
